Returning to functional wellness and balance isn’t just a matter of moving our bodies differently. As much as we’d like for simple applications of prescribed exercises to “fix” us, it’s often not that simple.

We have to remember that pain and dysfunction don’t just reside in our musculoskeletal system, they are also very alive within our nervous system and psyche.

For various reasons, our brains can forget how to sense, activate, and release certain muscles or groups of muscles. This is sometimes referred to as sensory-motor amnesia. The good news is that we have the ability to remember what we forgot.🙏🏼

With mindful awareness and an increased sense of what is arising on the inside, our physical practices become much more effective. With a tuned in attention we begin to re-educate the entire mind body toward balance. This is #embodiedposture ❤️
